The Blue Faced Leicesters
Spring Breeze Platinum 0823 - 'Piper'
Our ram, Piper, was born one of twins in 2008. His sire, Beechtree Titanium is a natural color ram, tested RR at codon 171 for scrapie resistance. Titanium was also the 2007 Champion of the North American International Livestock Foundation show (taking best fleece too!) We have high hopes for his son.
Piper has a beautiful temperament and lovely structure. Micron fleece test results will be posted soon.
Wits End 0823 - 'Giselle'
Giselle is a purebred BFL ewe. As you can see, she is quite a beauty and such a character. When we are too slow with her hay, she stamps her front feet - too funny! More to come as we get to know her. Giselle's yearling fleece is available on the For Sale page.
Natural Color Coopworths
Deer Run Selene
Selene is a lovely dark chocolate Coopworth ewe. You can't see it in this picture, but her fleece has a wonderful luster. I can't wait to shear her in the Spring. Fleece is already reserved for 2010.
Deer Run Symphony
Symphony is a "blue" color - see the "teardrops" of white near her eyes? The fleece is a lovely silver gray with bits of black heathering throughout. Her 2010 fleece is already reserved.
The Cross-breds
Laingcroft Triskadeca 0903 - 'Trisk'
This is first homebred lamb. She was born a single on March 13th - yes, Friday the Thirteenth. Her dam is purebredCorriedale and her sire is our BFL ram, Piper. She has a cute little beauty mark over her left eye but it otherwise white. Her fleece is like silk. 2010 fleece still available.
First photo at 2 months w/mom Second photo at three days old.
The Angora Goats
Kid Hollow 0955 - 'Chili'
This little fellow was an impulse purchase at the 2009 Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. He is so sweet and cute that we couldn't resist. His fleece is stunning with shades of silver, blue and deep charcoal gray; this mohair will beautifully compliment our BFL fleeces.
